Story
Lancashire Cricket has launched a pilot project aimed at its future U13 and U15 cricketers undertaking overseas tours. Henry, as part of next years U13`s will take part in the very first trip in February 2019 to Mumbai! During the tour the squad will be working with the Dharavi Cricket Academy as part of the Project Front Foot Initiative. We will be carrying out community activation work in Dharavi itself and spending time at the cricket academy to coach and play with the young Dharavi cricketers. This is a once in a lifetime learning opportunity involving our favourite sport and the opportunity to help make a difference to the lives of children that share our passion for cricket, but who live in abject poverty and face very challenging lives.
To make this trip happen, we need to raise at least £35,000 via the team's own fundraising efforts, and are embarking on a series of fundraising activities.
Julie and I are running the Great North Run on Sunday 9th September and the Tatton Half Marathon on the 4th November. Henry (who is going on the tour) is going to run 5 5km races. We are all not in good running shape so running a half marathon is going to be a real struggle. Just check out my Starva (https://www.strava.com/athletes/7223900) if you don't believe me. Our aims are to run the second race faster than the second. Julie and I aim is to go under 2.15 on Sunday and 2.00 in November.
Henry's aim is to run each of his five 5km races faster than the previous one.
Please support us and our cause. Additionally, we are running an auction to raise funds so any donations to that would be much appreciated.
