Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my just giving page.
I am going to ruin my bum again for a cycling challenge for a fantastic cause. I will be cycling 100 miles in around 6 hours for Leukaemia and lymphoma research. They are nasty diseases that are underfunded in terms of research, mainly due to the poor life expectancy.
Below is a little poem I wrote about my wonderful father the day he died. I haven't shared this until now but I hope it will spur people on to donate.
My Dad
A special man indeed, with no love for material things.
He was our hero and he now really does have wings.
A loyal, friendly face for all to see.
Everyone who met him felt as special as me.
A healer of the sick and a splendid volunteer.
A shoulder to cry on or a positive word in your ear.
He travelled with his vocation both near and a far.
His loyal love with him, like a following star!
The children came next, six under seven.
Mum and dad never struggled to cope, to them this was heaven.
Last but not least it was I who joined this team.
Over, but not out, this must have been his dream.
Thank you so much again.
Lots of love David x
