Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is David Wood and I am part of the team that volunteers for Help 4 Homeless Veterans. I currently look after any Homeless Veterans that come my way along The South Coast and I have been able to assist over 80 veterans into their own accommodation in the last 28 months.

Myself with Daniel Johnson and Wayne Marland are walking from Bournemouth Pier to London Westminster to hand deliver a letter from The Veterans. The letter also asks that certain changes are made to the Military Covenant so it Benefits all Veterans and not just those that have left the Armed Forces in the last 5yrs. There are other suggestions included in the letter but these are the two main bullet points.

I don't know if Government will pay any attention to the suggestions but doing nothing means nothing will be achieved. The cynics may laugh but I don't listen to the Minority I only listen to the Majority

I am pleased to have Daniel Johnson taking part in this event with myself. Daniel is a veteran himself but has also been helped by the charity which is an added bonus. Daniel has come such a long way since he was first found by myself and is a friend for life now
As a late newcomer to the Walk, Wayne Marland who is a veteran himself is also joining us for what he describes as an event of a lifetime.

This is also a fundraiser and we will set off on Thursday the 2nd of November and hope to complete the challenge by Wednesday the 8th of November. I have chosen these dates as I am hoping that Veterans will be at the forefront on everyone's minds leading up to Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday. All money raised will go straight to the charity as we are doing this event at our own cost and solely on our own. The distance is exactly 103 miles and I will be stopping off at certain intervals to carry out fundraising.

Any money donated will help the charity to carry on putting Homeless Veterans at the Forefront of our work. We always say that we don't cloth and feed Homeless Veterans. We actually take them off the streets which is normally carried out within 24hours.

Thankyou to all my supporters but most of all our families for supporting us in the run up to this event and during it as well.
