Story
Two years ago I trekked across the Jordan desert to raise funds for Trust Community School in Kitwe, Northern Zambia, where children and teachers have to make do with dilapidated rooms in an old farm building. They have very little furniture and teaching materials are almost non-existent. On that occasion, thanks to the generous sponsorship of family, friends and colleagues, I was able to contribute almost £6000 towards teacher training, feeding programmes and the construction of new classrooms for the School.
To support the School further I plan a second challenge, this time in Nepal. For six days in April I will trek from Pokhara along river valleys, across paddy fields and through oak and rhododendron forests, climbing to Poon Hill at 3210m, with long-ranging views across the Annapurna mountain range.
MAC's overall aim is to raise £25,000 to help Trust School build new premises, provide clean water, and employ qualified teachers. Please support this effort by giving as generously as you can. You will be helping the children of Trust Community School get off to a better start in life. Thank you.
