In November I will join a group of riders to cycle 1,557km from the mountainous north of Vietnam to the mountainous central region via the mountainous bit in between. 

This will be my longest ride to date and a solid test of climbing endurance. 

I am taking part to help raise money for Newborns Vietnam, which does sterling work to help improve the survival chances of critically ill infants.

One way they do this is through developing the knowledge and skills of nurses in partnership with specialists from the UK. The charity also provides vital medical equipment.

Newborns Vietnam robustly evaluates the impact and efficacy of its work. An evidence base is being built looking at tangible infant outcomes in order to inform future work. 

This work is about sustainable solutions for lasting change.
