Story
Dawn-Marie Jackson was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour - Glioblastoma grade 4 - in May 2015. She underwent neurosurgery, radiotherapy and gruelling chemotherapy. She took it all in her stride, never complaining and determined to make the most of the time she had. For many months Dawn refused to be beaten and, instead of lying in bed feeling sorry for herself , she continued to ride her beloved horse Velvet, spend time with her family and friends and drink prosecco!! Doctors said she wouldn't make it to Christmas, but Major made it to 16 March!! Dawn was so brave throughout and planned her own funeral, requesting that we donate to charity instead of giving flowers. Treetops Hospice provided excellent respite care during Dawn's illness right up to her death. Dawn leaves behind her soul-mate "Jacko" and the other love of her life, Sam aged 14.
