Story
Hazel died on the 4th July at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Hazel was 76 and a much loved wife, mum, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and friend. Those who knew her would say how tenacious and determined she was in life. She touched the lives of so many people with her kindness.
For many years, Hazel had been treated at the Oncology Day Unit at Wansbeck General Hospital where she formed friendships and received treatment that essentially allowed her to live a fulfilling life. In the latter months, as her health deteriorated, she was cared for by the community Palliative Care Team who listened to her wishes and enabled them to be fulfilled.
We are grateful to both teams for all they have done for Hazel and us. We would like to raise some money to show our thanks and enable them to carry on with their amazing work. Donations will be divided equally between the Oncology Day Unit, Wansbeck and Palliative Care Northumbria.
So instead of cards and gifts, we ask if you’ll donate something in memory of a wonderful woman who will be missed by many.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Thank you.
