Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am banning the booze & doing dry January 2018 to raise much needed funds for our projects for refugees at https://asnteamuk.org/ of which I am 1 of 4 trustees for. Now anyone that knows me well will know that I would rather do a bungee jump or sleep in a cage of hungry lions than do this!..😂 so I really need your support.
Please have a look at our website to see the projects we are working on.....from distributing hygiene packs to underwear for refugees in the camps.
I am very passionate about this cause & have been back to Leros many times as my heart will not let it go❤️. I am a volunteer that has worked out in the field so have seen such tragic things with my own eyes but at the same time have seen true human resilience & bravery😔.
I volunteered on Leros for nearly 3 months at the height of the crisis 2015/2016. Refugees were fleeing their homelands in terror, embarking on a treacherous journey & ending up on a rubber dinghy, overcrowded with sometimes no life jackets. They were lucky if they made it & during my time there, there were many drownings. 💔
They would arrive to us in camp, cold, terrified, ill & most had lost their belongings in the sea & worse still their family members & children.
These people showed true courage & bravery & we were there to offer support in anyway possible to help them. They were so grateful & would say thank you & hug us all the time. They didn’t need to. We were simply acting like human beings should be.
Even though there isn’t really any press cover anymore & seems like the world has forgotten about them....the crisis is still ongoing & people are needing our help.
Please help me by raising much needed funds for our charity....every single penny will go direct to ASN to help refugees . I am hoping to go to Leros in January to help....& with your help I can buy much needed aid there as-well. All of us volunteers at ASN fund ourselves when we go out in the field so rest assured your donation will make a massive difference to refugees.
Thank you so much everyone 💕💙🤗😘xxx
