We fund research into type 1 diabetes to find a cure for type 1 diabetes

Story

I'll be running the Bear Grylls Ultimate Survivor Race at this event, which entails 30kms of running with over 100 endurance obstacles with the elite to get around. In living with type 1 diabetes, of course I have my own challenge to face there and my message is that we can take control and achieve anything we set our minds to do.

Prior to the Bear Grylls challenge, between 3rd to 12th September I'll also be cycling in the mHealth Grand Tour 2015 with Team GSMA. This entails 1500km of cycling across Europe in just 8 cycle days!(!!!) Going from Brussels to Geneva via Paris in 3 stages.

I've always been an endurance runner, not a cyclist or army machine - so both of these challenges are going to be extreme. With my Diathlete experiences though I know I can keep control of my blood sugars to the best of my abilities and I want to show that diabetes will not stop me, it may be my main competitor but it is only going to bring the best of me.

I'm proud to support JDRF on their Type 1 mission for valued research towards improvements in care, such as the artificial pancreas, and maybe one day finding the cure too.

Thank you for supporting me on this journey and I'll assure you that I'll give my all out there. Bring the challenges on!
