Mölnlycke Health Care UK are participating in a sponsored collaborative "cycle", covering the distance between each Debra Charity Shop beginning from Poole, Dorset to Lochee, Dundee. This is in order to raise money for a wonderful charity who provide care and support to individuals and families affected by EB.
Between our offices in Dunstable and Oldham the teams will undertake a target of 600 miles in two weeks! We are undertaking "Distance for Debra" between the 26th October to the 6th November and hope you will join us in our journey by donating here!
EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa) is a genetic condition which causes the skin to blister and break at the slightest contact, this causes painful open wounds and sores. There are an estimated up to 10,000 sufferers in the UK alone.
Debra focuses its work in three areas :
To provide a team of specialist nurses to deliver innovative care to children and adults living with EB.
They provide social care support to help sufferers live their lives with dignity, this includes an advice service, access to emergency grants and specially adapted family homes and consistent support in the face of a debilitating illness.
They fund pioneering research in order to find effective treatments and ultimately, a cure for EB.
