Vanessa Cabban inspired so many through her warm and colourful blog Do You Mind if I Knit? and the online friendships that grew from this. 

For the past four months 45 members of the online creative community has been brought together by crocheting squares for this beautiful blanket. 

This project came about in response to the respect the online community has for Vanessa and their shock at her death in December 2014. After a memorial on Instagram the idea to make a blanket grew. 

The Do You Mind if I Knit? Blanket was designed by Lisa Smith-Clare using Vanessa's signature colours. Within two days she had allocated all of the 168 squares needed and had to enlarge the blanket by another 42 squares to ensure further requests to be part of this wonderful tribute were possible. 

The makers, artists and readers of Vanessa's blog, from all over the UK, who have created squares for this blanket were all touched by her in some way,  be it through her art, her magical illustrated children's books or her vibrant blog.
