Story
This charity is run by Gay Kerr in memory of two of her children, Helen (3) and Brian (10) who both sadly passed away with cancer related conditions. Angel Wishes support all children throughout Northern Ireland with cancer related conditions.
Angel Wishes send all newly diagnosed families £1,500 to help relieve some of the financial pressure associated with caring and supporting newly diagnosed children. In addition to this they will purchase a gift for the child to help keep them occupied during hospital stays/visits. Following this Angel Wishes will continue to support families in the event of a child requiring treatment in the UK or further afield.
Throughout the year Angel Wishes provides additional support in some of the following ways:
- Helping children attend school via the use of AV1 No Isolation Educational Robots;
- Emotional support and counselling for families;
- Creating memories for children and families in the event a child is no longer responding to treatment or receiving palliative care;
- Private viewings at cinemas, private bowling nights or outings to pantomime's or shows for children who are immunocompromised.
Angel Wishes is ran purely by volunteers with 100% of all donations going directly back into supporting children and their families throughout their difficult journey.
