I am embarking on an adventure to the Himalayas this spring to Everest Base Camp. I am doing this in aid of The Wave Project, a charity that benefits thousands of children and families across the country, including my own, through Surf Therapy. This evidence based surf therapy programme is proven to make young people feel less anxious and more positive!

As some of you may know my little sister Elsy suffers from severe allergies to a wide range of food and everyday substances, meaning she is not able to do everything all her friends are doing at the young age of 11. This can be disheartening for Elsy and makes her feel different. One thing Elsy is not allergic to is the Ocean. When she is surfing she can fully be herself and those everyday worries and anxieties are freed.

Elsy recently won The Wave Project 2018 Courage Award, awarded to her by Olympic medalist, Victoria Pendleton CBE who said: "courage is not something you're born with, or can train, it is simply there for you when you need it."

So there it is, this spring I will be trekking 17,600ft (5,380m) to Everest base camp!! I can't wait to start this adventure for such an amazing cause, and hopefully smash my fundraising goal before I leave for Nepal on the 11th April 2019. This experience will not only help to fund a super deserving charity, but will take me on a trip of a lifetime that I will remember forever. All your kind donations will mean so much to me every step of the way!!
