Story
On Sunday 28th April I will be running (and walking) the Virgin London Marathon to raise money for Beaumond House Community Hospice.
After being inspired by a friends efforts last year, and being reassured that no one gets a place the first time they enter I decided to give it a go and if I didn't get in then at-least I tried. Now here I am with 93 days to go and I'm feeling more positive than I think I should be.
Long-distance, or any distance, running is something I have never really associated with, supported by the fact that when I told my parents I'd actually got a place in the marathon they laughed. This is something I have consistently said I would never do but I have to say I'm quite enjoying the training so far.
I have chosen to run for Beaumond House as they provided incredible care and support to Mick, my grandmas husband, when he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He was going to become a full-time resident of Beaumond House, taking a huge amount of pressure of my grandma and allowing him to be closer to home during his final months. However he unfortunately didn't make it and this is my main motivation for running in April.
The hospice do incredible work in the community but rely heavily on donations and volunteers to provide the care they do. So if you can, please donate to my page! I'd be incredible grateful for the support and will keep you up-to-date on my marathon journey. Thank-you <3
