My best friend's brother sadly passed away on the 21st March 2016 at the age of 19 after a 7 month battle with leukaemia. Although Kyle's cancer wasn't terminal, he passed away due to a number of complications when he became seriously ill with his treatment.
Kyle was incredibly positive throughout his treatment, and regularly spoke of fundraising when he got better. My best friend and I booked tickets for this event before he passed away in the hope of raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
During Kyle's illness, the Teenage Cancer Trust provided Kyle with emotional and physical support that he needed to continue with his treatment.
Kyle's sister has supported me through some very difficult times in my life and it's really important to me that I return this kindness as much as I can. I'm really close to her family and have experienced first-hand the feeling of loss and devastation that a cancer diagnosis causes.
I want to raise as much money as I can for Teenage Cancer Trust to ensure that others diagnosed with leukaemia get as much support as they need. The Teenage Cancer Trust are the only cancer charity dedicated to providing this level of support for cancer sufferers.
This is my first event to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, but I intend to participate in loads more in the near future.
