Story
We are really proud that the Embark Group is supporting the NHS through charitable giving of £10,000 and to do our bit, as part of our Group wide support for the 2.6 Challenge, our HR team will be running/ walking the London Marathon distance on Sunday 26 April.
We are doing this in support of 'Homeless Link' a nationwide charity who do work in areas near all of our offices across the Group. In a time where we are all asked to socially distance and stay at home, we are hoping to raise funds for those who aren't as able as many of us to do this and stay safe.
To complete the challenge will mean us all running/walking 2.6 miles each - not an earth shattering figure but all within our designated exercise time !!! :) And more importantly, we hope you will be kind enough to help us raise a few pounds for homeless link. If you have a spare fiver, we would be grateful!
Below is a little more about why 2.6 challenge is so important...
The UK's CharitiesGeneral fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.
