Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

I am going to climb Kilimanjaro in August 2016. The 8 day trek will take me 5,895 meters above the planes of Tanzania and will certainly be no easy task.

I am climbing for the Freedom from Fistula Foundation, a charity that provides specialist care and support for fistula sufferers. Women every day are left disabled or seriously injured from pregnancy with thousands of infant deaths due to childbirth complications. 2 million woman in Africa are left with obstetric fistulas as a result of pregnancy. These woman and girls are widely ostracised from society, resulting in a life of solitude. The charity provides free health clinics and surgeries to heal the fistulas, while maternity care ensures safe childbirth. Fistulas are all but eradicated in the developed world, yet in the developing world thousands of women and girls in Africa are effected everyday and with no one to help.

Any support for this truly worthy and important charity is greatly appreciated. It is a cause that I believe is not widely understood or even known about, so please donate. Check out their website for more information of the great work they do at... http://freedomfromfistula.org.uk

I am going to give this challenge my all and am determined to reach the summit!

Thank you all for the support!
