Story
I found out about the Medicinema when I used to work as a Paediatric Nurse at the Evelina children’s hospital, and I saw first-hand what sick children and their families have to deal with on a day to day basis. I now work at the Medicinema every Saturday and their aim is to provide sick children and adults a therapeutic environment , by creating a genuine cinema experience in hospital to make them feel better, whilst providing relief from the wards and some precious normality .
I have met some amazing children that spend the majority of their life in and out of hospital, the Medicinema provides them with an escape where they can forget they are a patient, and enjoy some time with their friends and family, It truly is an amazing place!
Next year they are aiming to open a cinema in the Serennu Centre for Children with Disabilities in Newport and at DMRC Headley Court in Surrey which is for servicemen and women who have been injured during military service.
I am willing to jump out of a plane for this wonderful charity.. and I am terrified! So please please please donate, and help me reach my target!
