Story

Hey Guys!

My name is Emily Wibrew and I’m the crazy 21 year old who decided climbing 5895m would be a great way to r aise money! That’s 19,340ft up the world’s highest freestanding mountain!

Why GOSH?

I chose GOSH because I believe they do such an incredible job caring for children with such a vast amount of complex problems. One of those children was my sister, she was sent to Great Ormond Street at just 2 years old to have an operation. They believed her Kidney had a rare tumour, “Wilms’ Tumour” so needed to removed straight away. Although once removed no tumour was present, they found a large non-cancerous cyst. Due to this they checked her annually for the next 8 years to ensure a cyst hadn’t formed again, or worse a tumour. GOSH relies greatly on support from people like you, without this support children like my sister may have had a different story.

They offer support not just for the patients but also the families involved who without this support may struggle to cope. With your help they can continue to carry out research into new treatments and pay for the latest state of the art equipment and facilities. It’s these things which ensure the recovery and comfort of the children and their families. The children aren’t always strong enough to fight, so please help Great Ormond Street fight for them!

What will my money go towards?

The money raised by the GOSH Kilimanjaro Trek 2015 is going towards helping children with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). It will be funding new research into the best Physiotherapy and Exercises to help these children with this terrible condition.

Why should I help?

You never know when someone you know may be entering through their doors, needing their help, care and support. It might even be your own child, or your grandchild. Even £1 which is around the same price as a chocolate bar would help a great deal! Every penny will soon start adding up and will really make a difference to these children’s lives.

So please, donate as much or as little as possible. Help improve the lives of these children because one day, they could be helping you!
