Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research have funded my research program for the last 12 years. We are now at the exciting stage of opening clinical trials to test our new gene and immune therapy approaches to beating blood cancers.

LLR is the only UK charity totally dedicated and committed to beating blood cancer and without their help I cannot continue to develop new treatments.

This is for all my patients and their families (past, present and future) in recognition of their extraordinary courage in facing their illness. You never fail to inspire me.

We will never give up. Together, we will beat this.

PS. In case you were wondering the Ironman is a very long triathlon, consisting of a 2.4 mile (3.86km) swim, a 112 mile (180.25 km) cycle and a marathon 26.2 mile (42.2km) run, raced in that order and without a break.  There is a strict time limit of 17 hours to complete the race. Simples....
