Story
Hey everyone!!
I (Emma) have gone totally nuts and decided that running 10K would be a good idea. Because Mum ran half a marathon a couple of years ago and has been very lazy ever since, I thought I'd drag her along with me - and now we've actually entered (help)!!!!
We're running on 17 September in support of Turtle Key Arts, a charity I volunteered with in Oxford last term. They run arts-based sessions for a wide range of disadvantaged and socially excluded people, including people with autism and dementia. The project I worked on last term involved 14 young people on the autism spectrum, and by the end of the ten weeks we'd written a space-themed opera from scratch! Participation is completely free for the young people, but it costs the charity £500 per person. We'd love to raise £1000 so that we can fund two places!!!
Although Turtle Key is often recognised as a leader in its field, it is a relatively small charity which relies on donations to sustain the fantastic work that it does. If you'd like to see any more about what they do, have a look at their website!! (Extra points to anyone who spots my cameos in the videos). http://www.turtlekeyarts.org.uk/
To reassure you that JustGiving is legit, here's the blurb they gave us:
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
By the way, if anyone would prefer to donate using a CAF cheque, we would be super happy to have these too!!!
Thank you!
Emma and Helen xxxx
