10 years ago when my son was just two years old he collapsed at home and had to be rushed to hospital. We were told that if he arrived perhaps only five minutes later that we may have lost him.

It turns out that he has Diabetes, his blood sugar had risen to a life threatening level and we were unaware..... until he collapsed. He is now used to life as a diabetic and manages very well however a cure would obviously be the best thing for him and millions more.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is a global organisation working towards theat cure. Internationally, they are the world’s leading charitable funder of type 1 diabetes research and I'm asking you to help me raise at least £500 for them.

As a little insentive, for every £1 that you donate your name will be put in a hat. Donate £2 and you'll be in the hat twice, £15 and you'll be in the hat 15 times, etc etc. Once I have reached or hopefully exceeded the target my son will pick a name from the hat and the person named will be sent a one off, hand painted, custom transformers figure.

The figure is a Transformers Prime voyager class Optimus Prime and I've lost count of the hours I've put into him!! He's been cleaned, had most screw holes and gaps filled with two part epoxy putty. His head and shoulders have been reshaped by hand and some of the more obvious join lines have been smoothed. Areas that may rub when transforming have been sanded back slightly to avoid paint rub as much as possible and he's been primed in a top quality plastic primer. He's then been meticulously hand painted to a high standard with top quality paints. Finally I designed some one off made-to-measure decals that have been professionally printed using Alps technology which can print white! This is all then topped of with various topcoats; matt, satin or gloss depending on the area. He's a work of art and would certainly make a great centrepiece to any collection.
