Tranquillity Nature Trail
The Families and Friends of the Epilepsy Society ( FFES ) have over 100 relatives and friends who live at the Chalfont Centre, vulnerable adults who live with epilepsy as well as other complex cognitive and health needs.
Last year, we created a plan to create a Nature Trail within the grounds of the Epilepsy Society which is accessible to all the people who live on the Epilepsy Society site, creating wheelchair accessible paths with waymarkers, making nature related activities, and planting in such a way that we can, between us, improve the biodiversity of the site. Picnic benches along the way and new homes for birds and insects will ensure the trail is a place of tranquillity where staff too can come and relax between shifts and enjoy some well deserved peace and quiet.
We have wonderful news. Thanks to you, our supporters, and the hard work of staff at the Epilepsy Society, and many friends, families and amazing volunteers, we have been successful!
A couple of days ago, in late May, we were able to put the finishing touches to the Nature Trail, and it's now open for the Epilepsy Society community to enjoy - just in time for the glorious weather.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us. We will be in touch with as many of you as possible very soon to tell you more
