One of the most heartbreaking things about rape and sexual violence is that it often keeps the survivors quiet; the shame takes over and they feel like they deserved it, like everyone is going to judge them if they do speak up.

Anyone who has ever been affected by sexual abuse on any level is left feeling vulnerable, ashamed, emotionally - and sometimes also physically - scarred; with a sense of fear and sadness and unworthiness that can’t be described.

Safeline have created a safe support structure which has helped over 25,000 people so far rebuild some of what had been stolen from them through sexual abuse. The wonderful staff and volunteers at Safeline make you feel like your voice matters and what happened to you was not okay, and most importantly, not your fault.

I am forever grateful for every penny I can raise for this amazing charity and what they do.

The shave took place on Friday 17th August. So far, I have received donations of over £400. So this page is for anyone who hasn’t been able to donate in person.
