Fundraising for Concordia Volunteers
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In July 2020, I will be going to Nepal for 12 days with Esher College. There, I will be helping local communities after the devastating 2015 earthquake. We will be constructing earthquake proof housing and participating in intercultural volunteering - such as providing education at schools and helping at local women's centres to help develop the area.
The money I raise will be going to a trustworthy organisation called Concordia, who will distribute the money to places in need of funding to help improve the lives and homes of locals. The 2015 earthquake killed 9,000 people and injured a further 22,000. With a magnitude of 8.1, the damage to the infrastructure was great, leaving 3.5 million Nepalese people homeless. We hope our journey will create stability for those still struggling to this day and return them to a comfortable living.
