I'm passionate about this humanitarian project of the World Peace Flame in Gujarat, India. The medical camps organised by Thakor Patel and his local team of volunteers are straight forward and totally effective. The camps are staffed by doctors and nurses who offer their medical expertise free of charge to the poor villagers. It's the only chance these people will ever have of seeing a doctor and having their cataracts removed. This project generates goodwill at every layer of the local community, which makes it so sustainable. We chip in to pay for the actual cost of the cataract operations - only £25 each!

What a way to make someone's Christmas - to let them see their loved ones again!
