Assalamualaikum. Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. This summer I will be taking part in an event to bungee jump 160ft with a new organisation, Connect4Causes, in support of Level Trust.
Connect4Causes is a new non-profit event organisation working to aid various charitable causes and improve the lives of those who are living in less fortunate circumstances than us. They promote and collaborate with other known organisations who seek the betterment of our community. Their purpose is to organise adventurous and engaging events that connect young people to the projects in their communities while working towards a greater charitable cause. For their second event, we will be working with Level Trust.
1 in 3 children in Luton live in poverty - that’s over 16,000 children. When money is tight at home, a child might not have the uniform and equipment they need for school. They're unlikely to be able to do fun things in the school holidays and they're more likely to suffer with mental health problems and low self esteem. They can feel embarrassed about making friends because they feel different and the future can seem bleak. We help by giving them school shoes, uniform, coats, and learning resources as well as enriching holiday activities.
In 2020 Level Trust worked with children on 4,994 occasions by providing 8,878 free items of school uniform, 144 computers, emergency food and 3,390 resource packs. They have saved families an estimated £170,726 in 2020 and are undeniably a crucial asset to the Luton community.
The truth we found is that wherever you live, wherever you are from, poverty is destructive and no child should have to experience it. (Level Trust Website).
