Story

Thank you for visiting our FALLEN FROM GRACE team fundraising page!

Myself and 3 others (Sam, Emma and Amy) all train together at Crossfit Leyland and have decided to push our boundaries and compete in Battle Cancer 2018 (RX level) to raise money for Cancer Help Preston: www.cancerhelppreston.co.uk

This will be the first competition for a few of us and will be a nerve racking day for us all!! If you could please donate to our page it will help make it all worth it!

The day itself should be fun for all so if you would like to come down and support us you can purchase tickets from: https://www.skiddle.com/whats-on/Manchester/Victoria-Warehouse/Battle-Cancer-Manchester/13119426/

About CancerHelp

CancerHelp (Preston) Ltd became a registered Charity in 1989.The Charity has two cancer support centres.

Each year we have in excess of 6500 people that we support. CancerHelp offers support to people affected by cancer from the point of diagnosis onwards. We can help people cope with the impact of a
cancer diagnosis, its treatment and the effect of that treatment. We offer support to people whether they are diagnosed and have a good prognosis, are palliative patients (those living with cancer and having treatment for symptom control), those with a terminal diagnosis and also the bereaved.

Supporting the whole family is really important to us, because we understand that isn’t just the patient who is affected by this but often we support the carers, family members and children at a very stressful time.

Our Family Support Service supports children and young people who have been affected by a cancer diagnosis of a family member. We also offer a Children and Young Person’s Bereavement Service (Stride) that supports those affected by bereavement, irrespective of cause of death.

We work closely with local health and social care providers enhancing services being offered through health services (NHS and others). We also act as an outreach base for local Hospice services enabling patients to access services nearer to home.

The services are offered free of charge and are delivered in a welcoming, non-clinical environment by suitably qualified and experienced staff who have worked within the cancer field for some time. Although we are not a clinical service, a number of the Team have worked as qualified nurses earlier in their careers, although we get no funding from the NHS.
