At the end of 2014, at the age of 31, I was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure and was told that having children may not be possible. After further investigations and specialists I discovered that even IVF wasn't a viable option. A small brain tumor in my pituitary gland (a prolactinoma) was found, which is the likely culprit!

Coming to terms with this news was the hardest thing I have had to face. To be told you won't become a mother is almost impossible to comprehend.

When searching the internet for some form of support, I came across Infertility Network UK. Here I found More to Life. This, I discovered, was the part of the charity formed to help the involuntarily childless.

Thanks to friends, family and More to Life, I have now accepted a life different to the one I imagined. It was easy to speak to and read people's stories who are going through the same now or in the past. Diane the trained nurse had great advice, was so supportive and made sure I was coping mentally.

I want to raise money for Infertility Network UK as they have helped me through an ordeal when I didn't know where to turn. They also support the campaign 'fertility fairness'. This fights for equal rights for all couples that struggle to conceive naturally (1 in 6 of us). This would put an end to the unfair postcode lottery that currently dictates what treatment is available county to county!

To do this I have decided to walk Cyril (my prolactinoma) and I 630 miles in 50 days, backpack and all!
