Story

We wanted to do something to raise some money to say thank you to the support group who did such a great job of helping our mum through bowel cancer. We’ve decided to run the Bury 10K and hope people can help support our cause and sponsor us as we stumble through the course.

As well as Paul, Kirsty and Liz, Margaret Hayes, Joanna Smyth and Lisa Milligan are also very kindly running!

It’s been a really tough and life changing time for my mum going through cancer but thankfully she’s now been given the all clear. She’s had great support from the brilliant NHS at the Christie, North Manchester General and Fairfield hospital but she mentioned the Bury Cancer Support Group as being of great help to her and many other people in the area as something we could support. Also this is maybe somewhere that doesn’t get as much support as some of the bigger cancer charities but does an incredible job none the less.

We’re so so grateful that mum has managed to beat her cancer but this would not be possible without the brilliant support she has received!

None of us are brilliant runners and Lizzie in particular is starting from scratch to do the 10K in amongst loads of study and exams! This is a cause that means so much to us and it would mean so much if we can raise some money as a way of saying thank you for looking after our mum so well!

Please sponsor us!
