Story
I'm doing my first 100 mile RideLondon-Essex with London Cycling Campaign after being ill with Covid. The ride is particularly important for me, has it’s been my goal for getting through Long Covid. it’s been an unpredictable journey of recover, of ups and downs… and the ride I’m sure will be a similar journey… but every mile covered will be a victory!
The RideLondon 100, will also help raise funds for LCC and help improve cycling in London and to make cycling in London safe and accessible for everyone. Living at the cross border area of Crystal Palace, where 5 boroughs all meet, means I see first-hand what long term and un-joined up cycling planning looks like. I also know that the A214 (Crown Point to Anerley) is one of the most dangerous 1 mile lengths for cyclists and pedestrians with our steep hills and busy junctions. LCC can’t solve every cycling problem, but they do provide really useful support with their local borough led LCC groups.
Some local petitions also underline these local road safety concerns for cycling and pedestrians:
The Norwood School petition for Crowd Dale:

Improve Central Hill, Crown Dale, and Elder Road junction:

Reduce Speeding on Crystal Palace Park Road:

If you are able to support me, then it would be a great morale boost as I force my legs up the many climbs in training and in for RideLondon 100 on 29th May 2022!
Huge thank you for pledging your support.
