It’s that time again where I get another year older and reflect on how lucky I am compared to others.  It is for this reason that each year I decide to support a charity close to my heart.  This year I have decided to be a little selfish and support a cause that affects me personally.  The cause for this year is Verity – a PCOS Self Help Group.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common condition that affects how a woman's ovaries work. PCOS affects millions of women in the UK, myself included.  Having PCOS can be difficult. You can feel:

·        Embarrassed by your appearance

·        Worried about being able to get pregnant

·        Depressed

This year I am asking all my friends and family to donate the price of their favourite tipple (be it a latte or a glass of wine) to this cause instead of buying me a birthday gift.
