Story

Hi everyone, thank you for visiting my Just Giving page. It is challenge time again and this time I am trekking in the Alps for three days, through three countries, Switzerland, France & Italy. I am fully funding the trek myself and any money raised will be going to Brain Injury Matters.

Brain Injury Matters is a charity dedicated to supporting people affected by Acquired Brain Injury to rebuild their lives and reach their full potential in the community. All our services aim to promote independence, foster personal development and support people to adapt to life after illness or accident. Our services are delivered by a combination of professional clinicians and staff with specialist knowledge of ABI rehabilitation. Our vision is of a society where those with brain injury can live a full and meaningful life.

Some of you may know that on the 26th December 2017 I was taken into hospital with an infection in my brain. It was pretty serious and at the start very scary for everyone around me as they were unsure how the infection would affect me and if there would be any long term effects. Thankfully I made a full recovery, but it made me think of what could have happened. No one knows what is ahead of us and how something out of the blue, an accident, a trauma or indeed infection can have life changing effects. Thankfully I was okay, but there are others who have not been as fortunate.  Brain Injury Matters help those who have had these life changing events to help rebuild their lives.

All donations will be gratefully accepted.

Thank you

Francis
