Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My haphazardly organised medical student elective ended up with me being based in a teaching hospital in Kenya. It was a fantastic, challenging and eye opening experience and since then I have always wanted to head back to East Africa as a medic and work alongside the determined, hardworking teams of health professionals who work under circumstance so different to our own.
This year in October I am going to Lira in Uganda as part of the Poole Africa Link-supported but not funded by Poole hospital. To keep the link going we need to raise funds to pay for the link to keep working alongside our Ugandan colleagues to provide hands on education and training.
I am also celebrating my 40th birthday this year. My husband Alistair and I are going to cycle from London to Paris in 3 days to start my 40s with a challenge. We are leaving the kids at home (thanks to those of you facilitating this xx) and heading off to London on the train with our bikes. We are doing this unsupported so hopefully the route is well sign posted and we won't get too lost!! But it does mean that all money raised goes directly to the charity.
I'm really hoping you can help us support this cause, please read the most up to date blog for more information
