To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the famous Dambusters Raid, The University of Birmingham Air Squadron (UBAS) is holding a charity march around RAF Cosford’s airfield.
19 teams of 7 representing the 19 Lancaster bombers and their crew, will walk/march laps of the airfield overnight between 2128 on the 16th May and 0615 on the 17th May (the 1st take-off and last-landing times of the raid). Other volunteers/supporters/participants are welcome and encouraged to join in and do as many or as few laps as they choose!
There will be food and entertainment on the night of the event, which is co-located with the RAF Cosford Museum (admission free of charge).
This event complements ‘The April Fools Club’ charity bike ride which will see 19 teams of 7 cyclists riding from RAF Scampton to the Möhne Dam in Germany from 16th to 20th May.
All proceeds will be donated to the RAF Benevolent, the RAF’s leading welfare charity, so please donate generously!
