I am doing this for a charity which is very close to my heart which I believe provides genuine, caring and practical support for families who are living with cancer.

I will be cycling alone starting in my hometown of Kirkintilloch down through the borders to North Shields, Newcastle and then the ferry across to Amsterdam, passing through Holland, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and then into Italy, finishing in Tuscany in a town called Barga.  The total mileage is 1,050 miles which I hope to complete in less than 10 days, my departure date being Saturday 22 June 2019.

Gillian’s Saltire Appeal provides respite accommodation in Largs, Millport, Isle of Cumbrae.

This respite, provided by Gillian's Saltire Appeal, makes a real difference to the lives of cancer sufferers and those around them. The appeal raises funds to provide and maintain respite accommodation for cancer sufferers, their families and carers in Ayrshire and other parts of Scotland.  

All costs associated with the bike, accommodation and travel are being met by R&G Financial Services ensuring that every penny donated will go straight to Gillian’s Saltire Appeal.
