Story
I am delighted (and relieved!) to report that I successfully completed the 10k run on Sunday morning (15th July).
Thank you very much to all my supporters and donors (both those named and those who wish to remain anonymous). You have provided invaluable help to help educate these girls, and on their behalf I thank you very much x
There are of millions of girls in low and medium economy Commonwealth Countries who receive no education. CGEF provide funds for certain girls to get the education they need and deserve. Many of them go on and become lawyers, doctors, nurses, teachers, and engineers and all of them are better informed wives and mothers in their own communities, where they in turn educate the next generation of girls and boys. It is sad in this day and age that we still have to raise money to educate girls but it is a fact of life that whereas their brothers are educated, these girls are often not afforded this gift.
In addition to raising funds to educate the girls, the CGEF monitors each girl's academic progress and personal development through secondary school. Often their girls are leaders among their peer groups and go to be leaders and campaigners for girl's rights in health and education in their countries.
Please help me to reach my target.
The Mission Statement of the CGEF is "educate a girl; empower a woman; inspire a community; change lives."
