Story

Folks- the race is done and thanks for all the generous donations. It was a demanding and brutal day with a car crash swim with 2800 others, a very painful bike ride in atrocious Irish conditions up the Alps with cyclists crashing everywhere one that I was glad just to get back in one piece and then a very slow long marathon in the heat. But without doubt an inspiring and unforgettable day- to put it in perspective a guy with 1 arm and another with 1 leg completed the event also. Thanks again to all and I look forward to the next challenge???

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Folks as most of you know I am doing this Ironman on 29th June consisting of a 2.4 mile Mediterranean swim, 112 mile bike through the Alps and 26.2 mile marathon run through Nice to finish all on the one day. This year I have decided to go very close to home and raise funds for Foyle Parents & Friends in conjunction with Autism support. Foyle Parents & Friends started in 1963 ,and is very close to my heart as my late mother, who passed away 20 years ago this year, helped set up this charity. My younger sister Shauna avails of their great work and my other sisters help run this charity to help children with special needs. I know what they do first hand and my sister and her mates takes great enjoyment in their organised activities and I can absolutely assure everyone that every penny will be well spent on disability and special needs children and wont get lost in a big corporate charity!  Any donation, small or large will be put to good use.
