Story
Thanks for visiting my Justgiving page! I'm raising money for GMFA, the charity I volunteer for in my spare time, by taking part in the Red Run.
The Red Run is a timed 10km run in Victoria Park in Hackney on Sunday 27 November, the weekend before World AIDS Day, and supports vital HIV services in London. All of the money that I raise will go to my nominated charity, GMFA.
GMFA provides up-to-date and accessible sexual health information for gay men through its websites, campaigns, workshops, social media and online magazine FS. You can read more about its work at www.gmfa.org.uk. However in order to survive, GMFA now depends more heavily than ever on donations and fundraising events such as the Red Run. Public health budgets for HIV prevention have been cut dramatically in recent years, and the UK now spends 50 times more on HIV treatment than we spend on prevention.
I haven't taken part in a 10km run before, and it will be a challenge for someone of my advanced age and inferior level of fitness! However I'm determined to complete it, and it would be great to raise as much money as possible. Thank you very much for your support!
