Story
Following on from my 2017 fundraising ride, I will continue my tradition of an annual Grand Tour bicycle climb in support of charity. Last year on the acclaimed Mt. Ventoux, I rode over 21 steep kms to raise £2,032 for local charity Helen & Douglas House.
On May 29th I'll be taking on a new challenge by tackling the punishing 21 switchbacks of the Alpe D’huez. The summit of Alpe D'Huez is at 1,860m of elevation. I'll be starting in Le Bourg-d'Oisans (725m ASL) and climbing 1,135m over the 13.8 km route. As I did last year, I'd like to raise £1 for every metre of elevation climbed for a total of £1,135.
All money raised for this year’s ride will benefit World Bicycle Relief. World Bicycle Relief is mobilizing people through the Power of Bicycles. We envision a world where distance is no longer a barrier to education, healthcare and economic opportunity.
Any Dragons who would like to join the ride are encouraged to do so!! Please email Eric Siebert at ersiebert@gmail.com for further information and details to register.
Thank you in advance for supporting World Bicycle Relief, a wonderful organisation that empowers individuals and communities through the gift of bicycles.
Let's ride!!!
