Story

Gecko have recently become very involved in supporting local charity, Marty's Penny Bank. The charity was set up by local Mum Sarah to support the work of Cardiomyopathy UK who have been of great help to her family since her son, Marty was diagnosed with disease of the heart muscle before he was born. Whilst at the time, he was not given much chance of survival, he’s now a happy 4 year old living a near normal life but under the watchful eye of Great Ormond Street Hospital. Cardiomyopathy UK continue to be a great support to Marty and his family and many other families in similar situations.

As part of our fundraising efforts, Gecko are hosting a Go-Karting event on Friday 15th May at Chequered Flag Karting in Guiseley, which will follow a Grand Prix format. Teams of 4 will compete over a number of heats; the teams that achieve the best lap times will reach the Grand Final, where only the best will battle it out for the coveted first place spot! Teams will be made up of Gecko employees, suppliers, other local businesses and friends and family of Marty, with each team paying a £250 entry fee, of which all profits will be donated directly to Cardiomyopathy UK on behalf of Marty. On top of this, we're hoping that through this Just Giving page, friends of Gecko who are not taking part in the event will dig deep and help us raise even more money for Marty and his family to help Cardiomyopathy UK with the wonderful work they do and the help they provide.

Ready, set, Go-Kart!

Thanks from everyone at Gecko.
