Hello it's Gemma!!!! Firstly thank you so so much for taking the time to read this!
A few months back I met an incredible guy that set up a fantastic charity called Cocos Foundation. Chris's story as well as making me cry hit me so hard that I knew if I ever did anything next year it would be this. I had to help!
I will be travelling to South Africa to the Kwa Zulu Natal Region to work with orphaned children with HIV and help to build homes for 2 families.
I am preparing for long hours and hard days not to mention the emotional aspect but none of this compares to seeing these children safe and secure in a home I will build safe from rain and .......snakes!
2016 was personally a difficult year for me for many reasons and know I would not be where I am now without my friends, amazing family and colleagues I also fondly refer to as family. I want to extend the kindness and love that I was graced with as far and wide as possible!
I always knew I was born to help and a blip in
My journey has set me up to believe in my ability to help others even more.
I have never built as much as a flat pack from IKEA, I get terrible home sick and am petrified of elephants but this is something I have no choice! I HAVE TO GO!
