Story
The Cause
The Disability Law Service is a national charity which provides free, specialist legal advice and representation for disabled people, their families and their carers. It uses qualified solicitors to work on cases for people in areas such as discrimination, welfare, employment, community care and special education needs. The charity works to not only advise, but also represents disabled people in cases which reach court or tribunals. The people that the DLS aid are of all conditions and disabilities.
The DLS is largely reliant upon charitable donations to carry out its work. It is the only national charity to provide legal advice for the disabled. This charity deserves our support because it helps the many vulnerable members of our society by fighting against the discrimination they face and working to protect their legal rights.
The Marathon
I ran the London Marathon for the DLS last year and I am now bravely attempting to do so again this year (minus the momentary tears at Mile 20) . It was the toughest physical challenge that I had ever undertaken, but the experience was incredible. The best part about it was being able to raise money and awareness for the DLS. Please help me in doing this again this year!
Any donation, of any size would be a great way to contribute to a charity which is truly amazing.
