Kidney disease has relatively low awareness amongst the general public compared to some of the other serious and life changing dieseases. Here are some facts which you may not know:

Kidney diesease currently affects 3,000,000 people in the U.K.and there is no cure.

If your kidneys fail, it is fatal. Only regular and intensive treatments of dialysis or a kidney transplant will keep you alive.

Five people per week die awaiting a kidney and the average life span for a patient on dialysis is 6 years.

Just one donor organ can save 8 lives and enhance the lives of more than 50 people.

Kidney Research U.K. are the leading charity dedicated to funding research into kidney disease and they are desperately searching for breakthroughs in kidney disease that will help to save lives of patients across the U.K. 

We shall be pushing ourselves through pain barriers on October 14th when taking on one of the oldest and most famous Olympic events, but it is nothing compared to the pain and anguish patients suffering with Kidney Diesease endure each day so please give what you can.
