Story
We count ourselves immensely lucky to have so many kind and generous friends and we were overwhelmed with the both lovely and useful presents and cards that Eliza was sent when she was born. However I also struggled with the idea of one little baby having so much, when we already have everything we need: our health, family, friends, plenty to eat and wear. Eliza's a sharing type (!) and will be sharing her toys, and we have friends&neighbours with children who already share their hand-me-downs. We would be very happy, (if you did want to buy us something or send us a card) if you would instead like to make a donation, "Feedback Madagascar" which helps, amongst other things, train midwives, to give Mothers and their babies a better start. The JoWaltersTrust of which I am a trustee has chosen to support them this year, and we have been really impressed with the close & careful way they do their work; not just throwing money at a situation without watching the effect.
Whilst cards are very beautiful they can only stay on the wall for so long and we would be very happy knowing that whilst our mantlepiece isn't flooded, other families will benefit from the healthcare and support that we do. I will also make a little book of messages for Hector, so any emails etc that we get we can look back at and appreciate our friends' love.
