Story
Hi there wonderful supporter! Thank you for visiting, here’s a little bit about why!!
After seeing starving children in Cambodia this year I knew I wanted to help. I am privileged to have running as a hobby, these children don’t eat enough to have energy to run like we do & if I can use my running to help Rebuilding Sri Lanka (RSL) make a difference to even a few young lives, then I will! The VLM is an enormous platform for me to get your attention and raise as much awareness and money as I can. All of what we raise goes directly to the children, Clare, RSL’s founder and the best yoga teacher that ever there was, is the most kind & generous person I know, your money will be put to the best use to help improve these young lives.
I knew running a marathon ‘normally’ wouldn’t make heads turn so this year I’m going for a Guinness world record, I felt running as a nut was enormously fitting!! I also HATE being hot, carrying stuff and generally anything that makes running harder so rest assured this is not going to be easy! The goal is sub 3.46, I’m aiming for around 3.30..a time not to be sniffed at without a costume! So every time I raise a few more quid know that it will be keeping me going.
I will be training in the costume as much as I can as well as running a few races to help raise my profile, basically you’ll all be bored of seeing and hearing about this by the time we reach race day but that’s what it’s all about, showing passion for what you believe in and making the most of what we can do.
