Fundraising for Saint Francis Hospice
Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We were originally due to take part in this event back in May 2020 in memory of one of my finest mates, Daren Joyce, who, very sadly, passed away all too soon. Since this original date, my beautiful mum and my much loved uncle and father-in-law have also, very sadly passed away, due to this horrendous disease which affects so many families! This has led to this event and fund raising meaning even more!!
The care my Mum, Keith and Daren received made me understand and realise the hard work, dedication and pride the staff at all hospices across the country take in caring for people like Daren at this time of their life.
I have therefore decided to help raise funds for my local hospice by taking on the 'Isle of Wight Challenge' This challenge is a 106km scenic walk along the coastal path to help raise funds for Saint Francis Hospice.
Saint Francis Hospice is an independent charity and one of the largest adult hospices in the UK. The team of specialist consultants, doctors, nurses and a range of other health and social care professionals provide care and support to individuals with a life-limiting illness, as well as their carers and family members, completely free of charge.
Only 27% of funding comes from the government, making fund raising essential for Saint Francis Hospice. Enabling them to maintain and provide the high quality of care their patients are used to.
