Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As someone living with this presently incurable form of cancer, I have received a great deal of very good treatment and support from the NHS. In addition to this front line care however, I am also very grateful that Myeloma UK has proven to be a great resource for accessible knowledge and support while also pushing the research agenda for this rarer cancer.
As I write, my relapse is being held in a stable plateau, thanks to the medication regime I live on.
Last year I attempted this ride but a virus had me sent home on the first day; which was hugely frustrating. However, the L2P ride has given me a focal point to increase and maintain my fitness levels and this year I hope to go all of the way.
Not only that though, as this year my wife Lynne is also going to do the ride. This is especially supportive as Lynne lives with her own lung condition of bronchiectasis; so this is doubly a challenge for her but she is determined to do it.
While the treatment of myeloma is improving all of the time, it is probably still reasonable to say that your donations today may not help me personally but they may help other people suffering with this cancer down the road; so please give as generously as you can!
As well as Lynne: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Lynne-Buckler joining the ride this year, I will be taking the journey alongside friends of the informal Team GB including, Bea & Jim Jolly: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Bee-and-Jim-Jolly and my sister Deb Evans: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Deb10Evans
