Story
I'm going to be cycling through 3 countries in 3 days: Austria, Slovakia and Hungary - as part of pedElle 2020.
And no we're not just following the Danube - we'll be climbing the Tribec Mountains! Eek!
The first day’s riding will take the riders 190km with 1,000m of climbing from Vienna along the Danube through Bratislava, Slovakia’s capital, and then on to Opponice at the foot of the Tribec Mountains. From Opponice, day 2 offers the climbs - with 2000m of climbing over 110km - heading to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Banska Stiavnica. On day 3, riders will cycle from Banska Stiavnica over 160km and 1,500m of climbing, crossing the border into Hungary and rejoining the River Danube all the way to our final destination of Budapest.
The funds raised through pedElle will support the vital work of Coram, Club Peloton's main charity beneficiary, which receives 60% of grants.Coram champions the rights and welfare of children and believes every child should have the best chance of a fulfilling life. Coram helps hundreds of thousands of vulnerable children and young people every single year by developing skills, building emotional strength, upholding children's rights and finding adoptive parents for those in the greatest need.Club Peloton's other charity beneficiaries, Cyclists Fighting Cancer, MSA Trust and Tom's Trust, will receive a proportion of fundraising.
