Firstly, I don't like to do things by halves. Unless it's a marathon and then half is enough thank you very much....

So, two years ago I was stoked to get a space in the Great North Run; my first half marathon and in my home town. Unfortunately, I had to pull out at the last minute due to injury and the fact that I needed to preserve my health to hike up to Everest Base Camp just a few weeks after. It was worth the "sacrifice" of not running.

But now, two years later, I've traveled the world and achieved a hell of a lot. But I've still not done the GNR or in fact any half marathon at all. Luckily, I've been able to secure a space running alongside a great friend of mine to raise money for a charity that means a lot to her and her family. 

So please donate whatever you can. I've had no Birthday celebrations since I turned 30 (three years ago) so maybe whatever you'd spend having a beer or two with me.
